HomeTown Credit Union is proud to partner with United Way of Steele County and Community Pathways of Steele County for the 2026 Stuff The Bus school supply drive. As part of this community-wide initiative, HomeTown’s Owatonna locations will serve as official drop-off sites for donations.

Stuff The Bus is an annual program led by United Way of Steele County that helps ensure local students start the school year with the supplies they need to succeed. Each year, the initiative collects thousands of essential school items—from backpacks and notebooks to pencils and markers—which are then distributed to students and families throughout Steele County. In 2025 alone, approximately 12,000 supplies were distributed to area schools and programs.

The 2026 drive will run from July 1 through August 2, with collection bins placed throughout the community, including at HomeTown Credit Union. All donated items directly support students across Steele County, helping ease the financial burden on families and setting children up for a successful school year. Monetary donations are also accepted through United Way of Steele County and will be used to purchase supplies where the need is greatest.
